Wode Psalter Project & iPhone App

August 11, 2011

My colleague, Professor Jane Dawson, heads up a major funded project on the Wode Psalter, an important collection of manuscript musical part books of the Psalms named after Thomas Wode, vicar of St Andrews (Scotland), who, under the patronage of James Stewart, Earl of Moray, copied and compiled the books between 1562 and 1592.

This project involves bringing together the manuscripts (parts held in three different countries), an exhibition (currently on in the University of Edinburgh Main Library), musical performances of the Wode Psalter, and even an iPhone app (for those who can’t get to Edinburgh!).
