Other Views on the Lead Codices
One of the commentors on one of my postings provided a link to an interesting news story on the lead codices in a Jewish source:
Per this story, the Israeli Antiquities Authority says the items are likely fakes. But the lawyer for the owner (NB) assures us that the antiquities people didn’t do a thorough enough analysis, and he knows better.
The story also features a UK based guy who thinks they’re genuine, but is sure that they reflect Jewish mystical interests/circles (cf. the claims that they come from Judeo-Christian circles of the first century).
This is all soooo bogus! So much empty speculation, which the press loves as do the promoters of these items. I say to those who hold the items: “Put up or shut up!” Place the items before competent scholars or become a joke.
