New Online Journal: “Open Theology”

February 28, 2014

The respected German publisher, Walter de Gruyter, has just launched a new online peer-reviewed journal in the field of Theology/Religion:  Open Theology.  As a member of the editorial board, I join with colleagues in welcoming submissions from scholars.  The scope of the journal is broad, including pretty much all religious movements, phenomena and scholarly approaches.

Thank you for supporting online open access.

Can I try to submit something? Do you need qualifications or to hold a position? You say you are on the editorial board, will that involve reviewing submissions yourself? Will you read submissions only related to your own area of study or the whole range of submissions?

    • Submissions will be “double-blind” reviewed: I.e., reviewers won’t know the names of authors and authors won’t know names of reviewers. The large editorial board is designed to reflect the great breadth of the journal, and reviewers will be chosen for their competence in the subject of the submisions.
